Autos

Of course ... the only difference is autos are bred with ruderalis for quick flowering and shorter life.

All the strains you like are bred in many different variations.
Including strains not done as regulars . There are many “ specialty “ crosses also.

Forget the bullshit negativity .... they are in some instances better. You can run femmy autos in a
perpetual and harvest every three weeks .... I know , I do it.

They are easier to run , plug and play , don’t screw with them too much in the short veg stage ( cuz this is the most important time ) as if you stress them , manhandle them , overwater them , overfeed and other shit . The limited veg stage NEEDS to have as much growth as possible as this sets the stage for the flowering. Screw up here and you get underdeveloped size , and less than stellar performance.

They love light ....... the more the better. Side light it if you need to.

Cycle at 18/6 ( at a minimum) ...... and stick to it til end.

You can run autos at 24/0 , 20/4 or 18/6 ( being the normal cycle ) ... but not on 12/12 as it cuts the veg time severely on a already short life. Some argue the 24/0 time , and it works but I found the plants need a “ down time “ to metabolize ( dark time ).

As stated ... Mephisto but there are many others .... speed , bomb , dinafem , heavyweight ,
humboldt , etc.

I ran a few autos in 3 gallon pots, the least net was 1/2 an ounce and the most was 3 oz. I am going back to autos because its more beneficial to always have my tent in 18 or 24 hours of light. Right now I have another month to go in flowering for what's in the tent, and it's irritating that I can't add more while the tent is in 12/12. Anyway, the technology is there; the seeds are regularly tested over 20%, it's just a matter of personal preference.

What is your opinion about topping and cropping autos? At what stages shall you do top and crop your autos? I'm about to have my first run with autos. Thanks in advance

LST mostly to “ open them up “ .... however some strains can be topped( at least once ).
But it would be strain specific in most cases. Autos do not have the time to recover from excessive stress ( so bear that in mind ) unlike photos which have long veg times and therefore better recovery.

Those that are still on the “ negative “ about them , usually can’t grow them properly and cry.
They ARE better in recent years compared to say 15 years ago. They are constantly refined and are getting bigger . Once you DIAL in the proper way , they get quite big. Hydro , DWC , Hempy gets the biggest plants ..... as the rootmass grows quickly and unrestricted during the first 5 weeks.

Soil plants , I run highly aerated mixes ( peat based / 2:1 bag mixes ) . Coco works too.
Keep it simple ..... is the key . No multi bottle bullshit , supplementals , hot soils , molasses , gremlin farts , etc.

I have cropped some ( tall sativas ) pinch and bend apical tops but usually just let them do their thing. You can’t clone them but you can self them easily for femmy pollen or seeds.

Don’t worry about the nay sayers .... you’ll get fire .

If you plan Mephisto... just run them . No tweaking necessary.

If planning to ( experiment ) let Indicas grow and LST them.
Sativa dom autos you can top them , even cage them if they get vertical on you.

Look at some of the other breeders to find what strains you may like .... berry Ryder is a good strain , NL , White Widow , HSO Blue Dream , Mazar . They have SHORTY STRAINS too , small simple plants .... perfect for SOG grows ( grow bags ). Often called “ Ryders “ / “ Dwarfy “ ... good for quick weed. But they yield maybe 6 to 8 ounces. Star Ryder :bigjoint: Dutch passion - trust me on this one.

Disregard the breeder “ finish harvest “ times .... they are a guide only .... they finish when they finish often a little later than stated . But much better , more mature buds.

Good luck ... start a journal ...

I'm about run SOUR CRACK AUTO which is a cross between all mighty GREEN CRACK and 24 CARAT. Really looking forward to it. I'm not AUTO negative as I have done my research and I know the autos are improving and there are nothing on another level in comaprison to where they were 10 years ago.

I'm going to run my in COCO soil but have mixed opinion about what nutri to use. Some say no to bother with anything too complicated. The autos don't like it.

Thanks in advance for your reply

Just understand the Sour Cracks are small plants. They were designed to be a SoG auto. Usually 1 -1 1/2 oz max on most plants. Also fyi, on AFN Canadians had lots of no germ issues and Mephisto did a re test on germ ratez and refunded the bad seeds. If Usa good but if Canada you might have bad Sour Cracks. Good luck.

I do but they are high in THC and its generally a good quality smoke.

I get my seeds from Mephisto and they come from a distributor in Spain.

Also I have very limited space so they are almost perfect for what I can work with atm

Cool, just making sure you knew in advance since they are a top choice for autos and they have really nice sized plants other than what mostly has the 24 Carrot genes.

Yes, its a cross between Green Crack and 24car. Gonna put all my time and effort into these girls. Truly looking forward to the results.

Thank you.
