Autos worth it?

TO be honest I don't see why people discredit them so much because unless you are in an area where you can grow massive trees legally outside and even then, once you breed an auto trait in to a nice strain, you can pump out otns of bud in no time. And get it on a perpetual harvest. Think about it. I have been reading that the avg lowryder2 igives about .5-1 oz maybe more sometimes. I read 90g was the max and someone gets 40 alot so thats almost 1.5oz, so lets jsut say for the sake of the thread you only get .5oz per plant per 2 months.
Using 2 plants you get an ounce. TO harvest an ounce per week you need 16 plants. you can prob get the .5oz in a 1-3 gal pot and prob more in a 3-5 gal. so in very lottle space, without ned for light leak blocking, you could get a ridiculous amount of high grade weed in no time.
ANyone see any flaws in my reasoning because I am just speculating and if im off somewhere id like to know haha

12-14 weeks?? That's crazy. What autos are they? Maybe try to cross them with lowryder2 which has 8-9 week seed to harvest. If its three months anyway then it prob isn't worth it but two months to nine weeks is IMO

I have a bunch of auto's that Im just gonna toss outside somewhere

Yea that makes sense. Well most autos I've read about say 8-9 weeks. Never heard of 12-13 until someone said theirs wasn't auto flowering.

A few good reasons imo are: You can easily hide a bunch and have a stealth grow outside, and get multiple harvests throughout the season.
For stealth indoor grows you can grow with High output T5's such as the badboy and then keep the light on between 18-24 hours per day depending on strains.(This could eliminate heat issues which is why i see it as stealth, because HPS runs alot hotter and sometimes require AC) + maximum potential with the T5s. I have seen some nice grows doing this.
This works very good especially for personal grows because say you are growing 20 plants or so, you can end up getting one or more harvests every week, and it could be a wide variety of strains.

Do you know where to get non feminized auto seeds. I've only seen lowryder2 for sale regular seeds. Would have to breed those into autoberry fem or something?

autos can be worth it depending on if the strain is established. ive had some strains like the la diva and easy ryder finish in about 60 days with 1-2 oz dry but i also had an auto sweet tooth from barneys farm that didnt start to flower for 6 weeks. i ended up chopping them early to make space and because i was extremely frustrated with them, i actually ended up throwing the seeds away. just do some research and some of them can be well worth the time

I'm not saying this to start a fight, just stating a fact. Most auto's do not have the potency of most photoperiod dependent strains. Now I know they have come a long way with the genetics of autos, but you just can not get the cannabonoid profiles that you get with photo strains. That being said they definitely have their place in the cannabis seeds market. Some people don't have the space or time for a long grow that is required by alot of strains. On the other hand of that I know quite a few people who have photo strains cropped in less than 3 months. It all depends on experience, setup, and your requirements for a successful grow. In this area information is golden! Read everything you can on a strain before ever trying to grow it. A little time before hand could save you alot of time and $ in the long run. hes right most auto dont but u could find some that are close. but dont let that discourage u, its not like growing mids lol

worse than mids or better and high grade.
Even if lowryder2 isn't high you could make a strain almost identical to whte widow or something like over 95% but just auto flowering which would have at least 95%+ the potency and taste and such. It would only take about 3 years from start to finish with a stable strain.

i have just harvasted my autos i had 12 in total 8 weeks bang on . i am now into flowering my 5 photos i had growing alongside them and to be honest i think i"l stick with photos, everything is bigger and changing all the time . i found autos boring but they will have a place during cold winter months and if i need some dollar in a hurry
Thank you everyone for that valued information! I have 5 auto pounders growing and there over 40" tall. I'm almost to week 8 and it seems like they have 4 more weeks left. Plus curing time.. If you want I have pictures over in my other thread if you think otherwise.. This one time I wouldn't mind being wrong! Lol

They have their place in some climates outdoors and possibly in your veg tent. Otherwise they're largely crap in comparison to the best regs and they yield less.

autoflowing strains give you control, and control is almost everything for an urban, city grower, ie, closet grows, tent grows, and you get buds in less than three months, you can give light 24/0, use cfl's, led's to their advantage (electricity bills) you never have to worry about light leaking or any nonsense with using green lights to tend to the plants.
yes the yield is lower, but not really the thc content. Not anymore. I smoked some autoflower recently that knocked me on my ass.
the down side is the cost of the seeds. You want feminized seeds, you can't clone, so you have to buy seeds. That is the main disadvantage. It costs more, but you have control, and quick turnaround. It's not hard to setup a perpetual grow with auto strains, your cost is the seeds.
