Autopilot 4 light controler question

Have an existing 4 light autopilot controler a electric friend of mine wired. Only have 2 of 4 in use. Fluence spyder x plus and 315cmh. Both use factory cord no extention. Can I run a 10' 12g cord from controler to my new hlg 600h? Never had to do it before. Always got away buying 15' ballast cord etc. Im almost sure it's fine but wanted to ask! Thanks in advance!

Sure man, I extend my 240v lighting feeds to ballasts and LED's all the time, just be careful to mark the end of your extension as 240v so you don't accidentally plug something else in.

Is there a certain type of extension cord you recommend? I'm thinking of putting a 4 plug light control box in the middle room that separates two veg rooms, and have extension cords feed to the light control box. There are 2 Hlg 260's in each veg room, 4 total. My question is, what is the best way to achieve this? I think if I power the light controller at 240v, it will free up some power? Also, as each light is only 260w, and each plug on the control box can handle a 1000w light, is it ok if I use one extension cord with a three way adaptor to conect the two lights in each room, then feed just one extension cord to the controller? Resulting in only two plugs on the controller being used and less extension cords. Is this ok?

IMO extension cords are O.k. try and secure them down to prevent the wiggling. If you want to take a step up, try "quick disconnect cords"
but if really trying to prevent any catasrophe~ hire an electrician

either way, as long as you install the proper cords and end connectors the electrical will be ok

As long as the cord can handle the total amperage it's carrying then you are ok.
