Is anyone using a dripper system on a soil grow with a timer? Im looking for a setup I could use since i tend to be gone for a couple of days at a time.
I have seen dripper spikes and dripper tubes, but i dont know alot about the systems or if they even work. I think I could build on for under a 100.00

Hey man....I grow in soil and have a dripper system setup for when I am away. But for only 2 days you should be ok, just give them a really good drink before you go.. I only use mine when I'm away for more than 5 days.

You can set up a dripper system pretty cheaply though. All required parts are cheap.

This is how I did it....first of all, get supplies that you need for your grow space and the number of pots etc. I can have up to 8 drippers running on my system, but I could easily add more.

My Supplies:

25l bucket with lid, for res
2 metres of 13mm irrigation piping
8 piece outlet manifold with 13mm T, to run the drippers from
8 metres of 4mm delivery pipe (8 x 1m), to connect to...
8 x variable drippers
1 x Air Pump
1 x Water pump.

I ran a small length of my irrigation pipe and attached it to the side of my grow room, leaving enough pipe at the end to feed into my res and connect up to the pump.

I then connected up my 8 bit manifold to the irrigation line and plugged up the end of the line to stop the water flowing out.

I then connected up my 8 drippers to the manifold....and that's it...irrigation line all fitted and ready to use.

Next, cut holes in the lid of the res bucket for pipe, water pump and air pump line. Place air stone in bottom of bucket and connect to air pump. And place the water pump in as well.

Fill the bucket/res with your water/feed and then you are ready to go....

Connect it all up. Leave the airstone going all the time to aerate your mix and then put your pump on a digital timer so you can accurately set the time it gonna come on and off. You will need to calculate this for yourself based on your plants and watering schedule etc.

I only ran mine for 10 mins, every 3 days. This worked good for me. But like I say, you will need to work out your own schedule.

Check out this link to help you source the parts you need...good luck!
