autoflowering strains

That is a good question! I hear a very general rule of thumb is a gallon per foot, and since most autos stay under 2.5 feet, you could probably just do fine with a 2 gallon pot as long as you plan on using nutes. Now if you wanted to go from seed to harvest without adding any nutes to the soil (only if you had a really good mix) then I'm not sure how much volume you would need.

If you want to maximize use of your pots, go with some Superoots Air Pots. They have a cool design involving cones and holes so that roots are guided to the holes and are air pruned (then supposedly little roots*forgetthename* grow out of that root), and so you won't have to worry as much about the plant becoming root bound and junk.
Best deal on the internet I could find for those was growers-inc.com

Yeah I agree, 3 gallon should do it I think. They say a gallon per foot of plant, so 3 gallon should be plenty. Which auto strain are you growing? I hear Buddha White Dwarf can get quite large under HID lighting.

Although I'm not really an auto strain expert, I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night!
