Autoflowering question

I recently bought a mix of autoflowering seeds and since I grow outdoors, I was wondering if I have to stick to the same schedule of regular strains. Because they are supposed to take approx 9 weeks from seed to harvest, can I plant them any time of the year or do I have to plant them only in certain months? I would appreciate any advise from people who grow autoflowering strains in the outdoors. Thanks for any advice.

It will take 8 to 10 weeks to finish them. But you can start them anytime weather permits. They arent photoperiod sensitive. So if your weather permits you can start them anytime of the year, regardless of the number of daylight hours.
Take it easy on the nutes half strength recommended.
The autoflowering strains can be slow to start. Meaning the first 2 or 3 weeks they are getting established, you have a tendency to up the nutes to increase there growth rate. Resist this and just let them go. At some point they will take off and grow like crazy. There growth can explode during the 4 and 5 week.

I also have a Q. I am doing dwc and was wondering about the lighting was thinking of using 400mh for the first few weeks then switching over Hps or should I just use one. Why half strength nutes. Why not regular I went half straight on some bag seed and my plants hated it. I was gonna go wait you talking soil half strengh? or hydro?

My first grow with the Auto flowering was using a DWC and they had explosive growth.
Seems most of the Auto flowering strains perfer a lighter nute solution. I started mine with one quarter nutes and worked up to full nutes over a period of 4 weeks. At six weeks using full strenght nutes I started to get slight tip burn. So I cut back to half strenght and finished them like that.
Youll have to experiment and see what works for you.
It could be the type of nutes your using, you can use a full strength solution.
If you start noticing tip burn showing up on all the leaves then you might want to cut back.
Keep in mind if your using soil and you get some nute burn it is not as easy to stop the burn. With DWC if you notice tip burn you can flush it very quickly and reduce the damage. Ive seen plants get nute burn in soil and by the time you realize you have a problem the plant could die.
Or be seriously damaged to the piont the plant wont be able to grow to its full potenial.
Whenever I am growing a new strain I use caution on the nutes and watering etc, till I get a feel for the plant.
If you dont go over full strength it probably wouldnt kill the plant. If you miss mix the nutes and go way over full strength you can flat kill the plant.
Good luck.

Just finished up some Diesel Ryder and had great results. The ryder liked 1300 ppm Lucas formula with GH Flora nutes. I had it on a 20/4 light schedule under a 400W HPS from start to finish.

weather/temp permitting, it doesnt matter...they will grow. Any light cycle will work. LR AK-47 takes 11 weeks from seed to scissors. no nutes for the first few weeks then 1/2 strength bloom throughout. LR AK stinks like cat piss so be prepared to fend off the odor. :hump:

I grew 4 diesel ryders. I was very happy with the yield. I was just under a half pound dry off the yield. The smell was terribly strong. I have 2 carbon scrubbers in my flowering room. I have 2 4" squirrell cage fans pulling air out of the room trying to kill the smell and it was still noticeable. I doubt I will grow the strain again for that reason. The smoke is great. The smell is bad enough if you carry anything on your person you better have it in an airtite container. The smell is like wrapping a skunk up in greasy overalls. The smoke is hard hitting head high. Very sativa like. Totally expands your lungs. On a scale from 1 to 10 I would give it a 7. I prefer indica highs better and I dont like the lung expanding thing. I cough way too much.
