autoflower preflower oddity

ok so i've been breeding autoflowers for about 2 years on and off. over that time i've seen a few freaks: self topping plants etc.. anyways this time around i planted 15 reg seeds in order to chose one male with which to make my next cross. seeds sprouted and showed sex: 7 males, 8 females. gave females away to a friend and culled 4 of the 7 males. (those 4 not flowering as fast as the others or not impressing me growth rate wise.)
the 3 chose to keep all grew at the same rate, showed male preflower at day 22 at the 4th node. didn't look in on them for 3 days. when i looked in today one of the plants is flowering female. there were 4 male flowers at the 4th node almost ready to drop pollen and everything above the 4th node is female flower even the preflowers.
i'v never had any hermie's show up before and i grow out a lot of seeds. i give plants to friends who don't really grow so i can see what they do under different conditions i.e. window sills, greenhouse, burple leds.. up untill now i had found this breeding line to be solid.
i've looked online and cant find any mention of male preflowers and female bud. there's loads of info on female plants with male flowers but none on this topic..
i picked off the male preflowers as they were almost ready to drop pollen and i didn't want any dodgy stray pollen polluting my garden. i forgot to get a photo first. doh..
so anyway has anyone ever seen this or read about it ?

I can not help with your inquiry as I am a complete newbie. I have three outdoor Blueberries doing fantastic. My concern is a five day old Candy Kush auto who germinated and was put into a small peat pot to sprout. She is getting taller and I have put more soil around her stem which looks very healthy to keep her from stretching, the problem being she has been under a light for four full days and the seed cap will not open .It is to tight to remove manually without harming the sprout,I hesitate to put her in her growing pot,a 7gal.grow bag filled with healthy pre-mix before the seed cap opens and falls off or at least gets loose enough for me to carefully remove. Any info. Would be much appreciated.

Much .... much easier crossing female autos .

Take a healthy female pick a few lower stems ( around day 35ish ) when she is getting ready to pistil out and preflower.

Carefully spray STS / CS on those stems ( at NODE ) for about 10 days ( once a day ) Do not overspray ANY other branches youplan to harvest - may have to pull plant out into another room to do.

If you time it right you can have a flowering female ( receiving ) just getting her preflowers then you can use that FEMMY POLLEN to dust a couple of her stems to seed out.

I find THIS FAR EASIER to get a bit more stable seed runs then trying to introduce a straight male and all of the variables ( genetic traits ) that i may have to further refine.

Example : i use strong autos ( mephisto ) as the receiver or pollen makers ) and then pick ANY girls that are good structure and health to CROSS. Dinafem / HSO etc.

If you start with good genetics from both sides - better pickings at end .
