Auto-water hempy buckets

I've done about 7 grows including a couple successful grows using 3 gal perlite-only hempy buckets with gh maxibloom nutes.

The last grow was affected by sporadic watering, i was away for several days and I think the roots dried a bit.

Anyways, my plan this time is to put the buckets into a bin filled with 5 gallons or so of nutes and hook up a submersible pump to run for 30 minutes daily flowing fresh nutrients into the buckets.
(*the buckets would be raised above the water level and would drain back into the bin).

Any problems with this plan?

Thanks in advance, - DHD

i've done drain to waste hempy buckets. i wouldn't recycle your nutes.
I agree. You'd be reusing drain to waste water. I mean if you are in the hurt locker do it. Otherwise use fresh nutrients.
You can get away with this for a few weeks in the beginning of veg though. I'd change it out every other day, or add N.

I currently use autopots. Basically it is like a hempy bucket system with a res. It works good but i find at the end of the grow the roots have some funky swampy smell almost every grow. But it yields well and grows well. I have 2 reservoirs so i can run 2 strains with my 4 pots. It is so easy i bought a water farm and a bubble bucket over 6 months ago and still havent changed them out for the autopot.

Auto pots look right up my alley. Any handy plans available for us do it yourself'rs out here?

No but wow the price came down. For to it yourselfers get a hydro plan with 5 gallon buckets.

Autopots went down to 200 CDN for a set of 4 with res. That is 150 USD

i can shout for em big style mate, i pull 24 oz dried blue dream with 6 x 15 litre autopots with just base nutes in coco
I actually put something together with 2 3g pots with halo watering rings sitting inside a 32g tote. I water for 30m 2x a day. I'm still learning how to control ph but my clones are growing and seem to be doing well in their first week. Total cost was about 35 bucks - I got my inspiration after seeing successful grows with Flowmasta's design on these forums.

So the setup is working great. The ladies are taking off like gang busters with no noted deficiencies. Probably my best grow yet, using 5ml/g of floranova to top off the reservoir with about 2g once a week. But... my ppms are a bit low at 500 heading into the third week of flower.

I've never used a tds meter before so I'm not sure if i should up my nutrients or stay the course since the ladies seem to be doing so well.

Any advice appreciated.
