Rudd's taking a hard line on refugees? Wait a minute...this isn't an election year, is it?!

C'mon Australia, please don't vote for this guy. He has no respect for the democratic process - as evidenced by the then-novice Garrett's faux pas in telling the press that Labour will say whatever they need to say in the build up to the election in order to get votes..and then do whatever they feel like doing once they've won. Winning an election under false pretences is not democracy. It's elitist, patronising, dishonest and fascist.

The aboriginals in NT better prepare for their country's army to drive in the tanks. Bunker down, guys, there's an election to be won.

Wait wait wait, you mean to say that politicians in Australia promise one thing and then when elected do something entirely different?

Yeah, it's a shocker, huh? Lol...but there's something different about Rudd and the way he does it, and something extra lethargic about our country where the people are far more oblivious to the fact and far less sophisticated in their ability to understand politics than the people in, say, the UK or USA. There's a muddy little line between taking illigitimate power and smudging the truth in order to look good. Rudd is waaay over that line.

Racism here is a not only ingrained in our culture but politically valuable. Elections are won by the party that makes the population here feel most protected from anyone different...and anyone different is demonised and dehumanised in order for the politicians to assure us that they understand our fears and will protect us from the darkness that lies at the core of the human race (the non-white parts of the human race, mostly). Shits me.

The last time I was in Perth the racism was very apparent towards the aboriginals and others of darker color. The other thing I noticed was how frickin hard you guys party, that and your easy women.
