There are many good threads around here that discuss germination and vegetative growth. It is the same if it is Sativa or Indica dominant strain. I put the seeds into a moist paper towel that has been folded several times and not dripping wet but moist and put them on a plate and cover with another plate (some people use ziploc bags). I then place it on a seedling starter mat that keeps the temps 80-85F in a dark place. Make sure that the paper towel stays moist and does not dry out. I check every 12 hours to see if the tap root has sprouted. Once I have at least a 1/4" tap root I carefully place it in the medium (soil or whatever you like though I am no fan of rockwool) with the taproot down. Cover loosely as light is the enemy of roots. Within a few days the seed should break out of the medium and you have a seedling. Now it can go under lights. The seedling doesn't need much light and I use flouros (usually about 2 weeks) until it is bigger and can go into the veg room with metal halide light. You have to keep the HID lights well away from a seedling as it will burn up easily. Keep the medium moist (not soaking wet) until the root ball is well established. After 2 weeks I start 1/2 strength vegging nutrients. The lights are on 18/6 or 24/0, whichever you prefer for the rest of the vegetative growth stage.
