Atshark 1000w LED grow light?

A friend of mine replaced a 600 with a 480 watt QB style light. He was averaging 16 per harvest. Over the past 3 harvests since switching lights, his yield average increased by 2.5 ounces to 18.5. I don't know where you live, but in my part of the world, cannabis is worth money.

You didn't factor in bulb costs.

Electricity is expensive af where I live.

I was making the point that a blanket statement about savings or cost recovery isn't accurate for many. I live in the Pacific Northwest and have relatively cheap power and even cheaper when I run my lights during what's called Off-Peak hours making it extremely cheap.

As for your friends increased yield that's great. However, I've pulled over 20 ounces with a 600 watt HPS. I don't sell anything so cannabis has no real monetary value other than I don't have to buy it.

I'm sure that light is a great choice for someone getting into growing but for some that already have existing equipment that functions fine it can be an unnecessary expense to replace a light if it's going to take years to see that money recouped.

It's all good folks. I'm just gonna use it for my mother or maybe clones. I appreciate everybody that chimed in. Thank you all!

The 4x4 I used to run a single 600 HPS in, I used to average 18, best was 20 - running a GG#4/White Widow cross. It now averages 22, with my best run being 24.5 under an HLG 600 R-Spec. Same wattage. I run multiple rooms and have shaved $300 off my monthly bill over the past several years, while at the same time increasing yields

I suggested that he keep his current light.

BTW - OP mentioned having expensive electricity, so . . .

Why are you even in this subforum???

I can be anywhere I please. Why do you care?

I’ve pulled 800g from a 240w LED

plebes

I've pulled 150 grams from an old 60 watt soft light incandescent bulb before. It was a high yielding strain. Plus I fed it molasses and calmag from start to finish.

Cause it's odd behavior.

Just as an example, say this was an automotive forum and I was a gung ho combustible engine guy. I wouldn't be creeping around the electric cars sub forum talking shit. Cause it's just creepy, dickish, and weird. Or a soil guy trolling the hydroponics section - why?

I was an HID guy for the better part of two decades. The switch to LED over the past couple of years has been mind blowing, both in terms of increased performance and cost savings. ROI was lightning fast.

For the record, I actually love my Raptor that absolutely pisses gas all over the road, but my dad's Tesla is bananas when you go WOT on that thing.

Odd behaviour? OK. Thanks for the education.

You've enlightened me. Thanks.

I'm on a cannabis forum with various sections. I made a comment related to lighting on a lighting subforum and you didn't think it was appropriate. I'll run all my future posts past you before I make them.

In the future I'll think about every post I make before posting on jimmyslade dot com.

Thanks for setting me straight. You've been very helpful in my foray into online forums. Thanks again. I couldn't have done it without you. I'll be sure to follow your "Posting 101" in the future. I don't want to be "That Guy".

You really opened my eyes. I'm humbled. Thanks for the slap in the face to make me aware of when, where, and what to post. It's people like you that make everything work.

I'm sorry for my post. It was wrong. Will you forgive me?

You should go troll the hydroponics section, tell them they're all idiots for not building soil, bruh. It makes perfect sense.
