Are you ready for a Cannabis Hero?

Janusz Palikot, the leader of a new left-wing party Palikot Movement (RP) threatened to smoke a joint in parliament as part of his campaign to legalize cannabis possession, but after Sejm Speaker Ewa Kopacz notified the prosecutor's office about an attempt to commit crime he lit marijuana laced incense instead.

The politician, known for his flamboyant political acts, wanted to test Poland’s new anti-cannabis laws which allow police to arrest those caught in possession of small amounts of soft drugs.

"I want to condemn the hypocrisy concerning marijuana consumption," Palikot told reporters. "Someone said they would smoke a joint in parliament and the reaction was tantamount to someone announcing a coup d'etat."
