are you following full strength manufactures feeding schedules

Hey all,

Is anybody using full strength nutes as directed on these nutrient calculators all the nut. companies have on their websites?

If I use anything like what they recomend, it burns the arse out of my plants, just wondering if anyone else has this problem?

Nope...half strength...I think they post those amounts because they just want you to use the nutes quickly and buy more...I seldom go over 900ppm, but if I followed my nute companies recommended dosage, I can imagine that number would be closer to 1500, which would fry my plants too.

I'm sure some strains can take it, but not most.

900ppm's, wow, if I go anywhere above 500ppm's I'd have no leaves within 2 weeks.

So The CEO's of all these nute companies concur that it is better to burn a plant with their product rather than have a successful grow?
This is one saying propagating the Internet that just makes no sense.
If these same people that advocate burning your plants also recommend a week of flush, wouldn't that contradict this "use more" theory?

It is a bunch of BS. These feed schedules are generic recommendations. Most state "your grow may vary".

Cool...follow those recommended feeding schedules then. I don't have a problem with you growing the way you want to.

30% @ 1.5ml/L . I had to prune the shit out of it today, just seems not to want to uptake water, does not want to transpire so she folds her leaves in. I think the root structure must be smaller than usual because of the high N in its youth. The roots are nice and white and look healthy.Well, i'll keep feeding at 700 to 800 from here on out, Any more problems and I'm gonna have to let her go as far as she can on her own. She's just getting too high maintenance. Lesson has been learned: 1) Do not ooohhh and ahhhhh because your plant is so green. It means too much N. 2) Never go blindly into a manufacturers nutrient schedule. 3) prune early, don't let her get too bushy, you will loose product.

Seems like you had a problem with this plant...Like you overdosed it on nutes maybe?

If they actually wanted a grower of cannabis to have a successful grow then they wouldnt be selling so many high P, out of balanced, incomplete nutrients now would they...Meth is very correct, they just want to get into the wallets of the fools willing to believe their claims...

Most growers start at 1/4 of the recommended dose and work up from there. Finding out what their plants and particular strains can handle in the growers particular environment.

Maybe. Whats your point? I fucked up , I learned , I moved on. My argument is not that the recommended levels are correct, but that a company is not going to recommend you burn your plants purely so you would consume more. like I said "never go blindly in..." , "results may vary." Was this supposed to be some form of Ahhh Haaa moment?

I start quarter strength and work my way up to full strength in veg and flower. My medium is all organic along with my nutes. No burning the ladies here!

Who says these schedules are tailored just for pot? They are GENERAL GUIDLINES

We as growers should get away from these schedules and read the plant instead. Generally I go .6 EC seeds to 2 weeks. ramp up to 1 EC veg. 1.6 -1.8 bout Bloom.
