Im not sure if this has been posted before, but it is a first for me.

Apparently Sativa should be called Indica, Indica should be called Afghanica and Ruderalis should be called Sativa, if i read the article right...

I've seen this before. Frankly I don't really know what to say. I love accurate use of terminology, but It would be some major silliness to try to get people to change. It would be 10x worse then the debates over LED or flushing.

Did not read your link but yes, in a nutshell. I came across the info long ago somewhere. Just does not seem important at this point. Most people who researched how to care for the plant also came across this info but don't care either.

It's slang, get over it Robert Clarke Jr

We use the word strain for fux sake.
Maybe because it's not slang and the appropriate botanical term? And it's fuck, if you want to be so correct.

"In botany, the term is not used to rank plants. ... A strain is a designated group of offspring that have descended from a modified plant, produced ether by conventional breeding or by biotechnological means or result from genetic mutation."

There's Ale and there's lager. The inbetween is a pilsner. Simple. Now we as stoners can we stop fucking trying to create new names? You're only adding to the mess of terminology here.

Most people just wanna get high and don't the difference between the two. Some indicas are mislabeled and miscategorized because of the effect. We need to follow strain genetics better rather than just name drop terpenes and other goofy denominators.

A true indica kills pain is all evil which I love and a real sativa is like coke but you can function and the world is a happy place.

Pilsner is lagering but using ale yeast. Or vice verca depending on where you got it. Ales with lager yeasts are killer. So weird.

But much like hybrids. The lines is getting blurred. It's getting harder to tell porters from stouts. Good luck separating IPAs anymore since everything has to be citrus.
