Are they still to young to prune the top?

now is as good of a time as any really. After the third node is a rough guideline. Personally i'd wait till the top is long enough to clone, and clip at that time.

Thanks guyz one more question if i let them grow to be about 4 foot then will that be better for bud production. Or will i need to be buying more lights, i dont know if you seen it but i had 2 four foot tubes and up under those i have a little 20 watt up under there...Fuck though i need to sex them it could be a waste to put so much work in to them....i lifted the lights so to strech them just a couple days....give me some suggestion's....thanks

for yield, obviously bigger is better, and pruning techniques are essential.

Your going to need more light. Two tubes is nothing, assuming they are T5's thats only ten thousand lumens, that will only stretch like a foot, and if they're not T5's, than its a waste. Growing them four feet will only supply lumens to the top 1/3 of the plant. Look into HID's or more fluoros.
As for sexing your plant, take a clipping and flower it.

I would suggest buying a 250w hps light w ballast and put your mother plant under there, and put the clippings under the fluoros. That 20w bulb is probably completely useless.
