ive got 3x Ata Tundra and 1x White Widow. i dont quite think the widow is ready yet. the tundras are a 6 week strain and have been under the lights for 8. i think the widow is 10? im going to harvest her next week at the latest anyway.

not sure if u can see the pics too well. i should be ready for harvest on the 6week strains though, right?

edit: the middle one is lanky as.... she has produced alot of bud sites but they are the smallest buds out of all the plants. the last pic is the widow, i can see a few orange hairs

what's the tric color ?

the skunk that i was growing it was supposed to be ready in 45-50 days according to breeder, but actually i left it till day 71 (happy that i did)

what i learned is that many things can 'delay' the harvest and in my opinion those estimates are made for optimal conditions (1000wHPS, always constant temp. and RH, CO2, good airflow, perfect nute balance, healty enviroment etc, etc...) so.. unless we are a professional growers/or can afford to dedicate 200% of our time i think it's hard to harvest with in the breeders estimate... that's what it is ... a estimate!

but what i did to see if mine were ready or not, was: checking trics (with a microscope) and the general appearance of the plant, it's true we can really see that the plant is ready by the look (calyx faten up, cover with trics, majority of pistils have turned brow/orange, a kinda of white/yellowish tinge covering the buds and i also felt that the buds were looking heavy!!)

i just put another 2 cfls in there. hopefully they will be ready. im gonna have to harvest rather monday night or at the very latest, sunday
 
try and get a scope mate not much money and the trichs will tell you

would be a shame to pull them early and not get completely out of your mind :)

nah no point me buying a scope. it will be a waste of money. can any1 tell me if they will be 'ok' to harvest on mon night? will they still get me stoned after i dry and cure them?
 
indeed they will but the ata tundras ive got have been going 8 weeks today and still aren't ready..... It's just genetics to be honest with you.... You will get stoned but it will be an uplifting stone with a pleasant head high, the only problem is it won't last as long if you waited say another week/10 days

what lights an stuff was u using for ur tundras?

im gonna try keep em till next sunday and harvest at end of the month.

i give mine the dark at the end and i would hang them whole for a bit. the slower the dry the better the bud. cfl`s you need to flowwer sooner to keep it small for lack of light
 
they were 12/12 from seed almost.

u mean u would give these plants a 24 hour dark period before cutting?
 
i leave mine up to 72 hours, depending on the strain.
i read an artical about the first german scientist to provide mj to the pharmacies years ago. they played around with the light periods and found theat up to 72 hours increases certain chemicals in the thc that may increase potency up to 30%.
i did this test on my last5 harvest and did find a difference, i didn`t have it tested on this round but i do plan on it.
 
hm, i thought that was just a rumour? u think i should leave them 2 or 3 days just in the dark and then harvest?
 
minimum 48 hours to benefit they said.
then cut the plant whole after the dark. after a few days trim off the large/medium leaves and back to dry.
then in about a week trim the branches into smaller ones and a little more of a trim.
let hang in dark till the stems snap, remember they will moisten when you put them in jars to sweat therm.
keep the temps cool and low humidity, and lots of air blowing on them
 
ok cheers bonz. thanks for that info. ill have em for 2 days, then cut them at the bases and hang till the stems snap then cure for about 5/7 days. maybe 2 weeks, see how it goes.
 
yer i know. i am trying to keep the plants under the cfls for as long as possible but my girlfriend has gone over her pregnancy due date by 5 days. theres gonna be alot of activity in my house once the baby is born. since its a new house, all family members are going to wanna come in and look around so i dont wanna run the risk of any1 finding this stuff at the last minute.

it will be easier to hide when drying/curing so just trying to let them go as long as poss but i also have to think about my current situation. bit of a tricky one.

yer cheers :) well, we think hes a boy. he had a massive cock on the scan we went to but i was speaking to a guy at work and he said the same thing and it came out a girl, so its kinda like 70/30 its a boy,lol.

yeah ofc, family is golden, i just wanna get the house clean before all the family start visiting. plus im selling all my gear to my dealer and giving him 2 plants to keep going. we made a deal that i get half the harvest when there done and he gets the rest to sell/smoke or whatever. so just trying to anticipate this grow and plan in advanced so i keep on top of it.

i tried to plus rep u but i need to spread some 1st.
