That's the plant starting to show it's sex, but it's still early. Give it another week or so and you'll know for sure.

those spike thingys are called stipules if i remember correct. all mj plants have em ther not a sign of sex

Should I have it in flowering stage yet? Its about 14 inches tall.

it all depends on how much space u have. they will grow 2-3xs ther size wen u flower

yes stipules are the appendages that appear where the petiole joins the stem.
