are these cactus roots??

they dont look like roots but im not the cactus expert

just a smidge, few tablespoons worth, let it look for water, by growing roots.
It gets enough food from the air and has a supply of water inside that can last for months, you just want to keep the soil slightly damp so organisms inside can stay alive... i.e. live soil vs dead soil.
