Are my plants going to die?? Need help please.

Here is a quick over view of my plants and how i have been taking care of them.
They are about a week old, every day i water them a little bit, and mist the leafs with tap water that i have let sit for a few hours to reach room temp and evaporate the chemicals.
I have the plants in mericel grow seeding soil, and they are grown inside. I only have two 100 watt lights on them at all times roughly 12 inches above the plants.
About 2 days ago they started showing signs of wilting on the water leafs. I thought nothing of it because i just replanted them and thought they were in an informal shock.
Well today i looked at them and 2 out of 4 have a brownish color on the end of a few leafs, and on those same 2 plants the water leafs look as though they are dead, or in the process of dieing.
What am i doing wrong? waht can i do to save the plants? Is it to late?
here is a picture of the worst plant. Sorry the quality sucks, but its a off a camra phone.

Thank you,
DC

your lights are way to high lower them to about 3 to 5 inches off your plant and also back off the water a little wait tell the top soil is dry and then water also get a light breeze goin on them

yea try n get some sort of breeze on them cuz theyll get stronger....and the bottom leaves usually always dies so its no biggie dude

Also once a plant uses all the nutrients from the soil the lower leaves will turn yellow, that's when you start feeding.

What kind of lights are you using? Plants seem to be stretching all to hell. CFLs? You need to move them closer, if that's the case. You can put a CFL an inch or 2 away from the top of the plant and it will stop stretching.

Also, stop misting the leaves as it's pretty much pointless at the moment, and stop watering them every day. Give them a good drink then let them dry out for a day or 2 (until they're completely dry) before you water again. Too much water will weaken the stems and cause your plants to "faint" (fall over into the dirt) and eventually die. As stretched as those plants are, you may want to repot them and bury the stems a bit, almost up to the first node where the false leaves are. This will help keep them from falling over.

The first "leaves", which are actually the cotyledons, will fall off once the plants have used all the nutrients in the cotyledons, not the soil.

The cotyledons are what feeds the plant until the roots are developed enough to pull in nutrients from the soil.

Every living thing dies eventually. In all seriousness though when you say 100w light what type of bulb are you talking about exactly?

I have normal house lights on them. 100w lights you would put in your kitchen. Thanks for the advice. It has really helped.

so I should replant them where the water leafs are about a half inch above the dirt? And move the lights very close?
