Are Feminized seeds B.S.?

Feminized seeds are just all opinion in my opinion. LoL that makes no sense. some swear by them and some trash them. I personally think they are kinda of a waste.

Not sure if this is true or not as I have never dealt with them before, but I've read that it is very common to end up with hermi's. To me, that kinda sounds like it is too risky! Like seedlessone says though, some people swear by them.

No you would have both sex on one plant. Pollen in your grow room and seeds it your pot. basically a nightmare if not controlled!~ LOL

If you really REALLY had the money then I would say to go ahead and get them but you don't REALLY have the money or you wouldn't be growing right?
what confuses me is how people seem to be 50/50 on whether feminized seeds are good or not. I can't think of a better idea than feminized seeds, but if they're BS and you don't pay full attention to the sex, you could end up spending over a hundy for a bunch of hermies and males. But then again... Wouldn't it be nice not to worry?

I know this is an old post but I've bought fem seeds and never had a male. However, one of the four were hermies.
speacialy for the price compard to regular strains.

Get 2 pure(almost pure at 99.9%)silver coins and get a 16v adapter and wire each coin to one of the negative and positive lines. Careful, very dangerous! Just let the tips of the coins go into a bucket of water, plug in and drop seeds in for about 30 seconds. Unplug and take seeds out and germinate.

after too long in 12/12, most fems will start spitting out bananas (of course, know how long a strain flowers for... 16 weeks might be a long time for some... but for some sativas, you shouldn't harvest anyways till then... so know you're stuff if feminizing seed...)

What an appalling attitude.
I for myself don't grow because it saves me money, I actually enjoy the whole process. People like you are in this only for the high and it's just sad.
When it comes to feminized seeds, I ordered some feminized Jack Herer and every single one of them turned out female.

Fem seeds, like most every other topic, is based more on personal prefernce and what you heard rather than right vs. wrong.
Fem seeds are made from pollen of female hermies, so its true that you won't get any males....but you could get a hermie or two which are more of a hassel than males.
I plan to keep them out of my room
