Anyway to encourage female growth?

I have some seeds, and I was just going to grow 1 or 2 plants. Would there be anyway to encourage female plants to grow or is it the genetics of the seeds?

all in the genetics dood. only thing u can do is make sure it dont go male if it is a female

pretty much the genetics of the seeds at the end of the day. there are tricks and such apparently for identifying and even making fem'ed seeds, but the easiest option is just to assume it's gonna be a 50/50 gamble on male vs female

i've read that high levels of nitrogen in the soil helps encourage females, also that lower temps (60-70f) during initial growth is supposed to cause more females to form.

You can stress a female plant too much with light leaks during flowering, too much water, to little water etc.. and it can turn a female into a hermie.

thx for the back up jimmy! i couldn't remember exactly where i'd read that at.(still dont lol) i been looking around riu (cause thats where i thot i'd gotten the info, from one thread or another) but i also read this while re-researching it

might try this my self. i'll still look for the source info on the nitro/temp thing tho:peace:.

I read that in the medical bible by Cervantes.pg 20.

higher levels of nitrogen' lower levels of potassium the first two weeks with high humidity and cooler temps increases the chances of females. More blue light, and fewer hours of it (eg 16 vs 18+) may also contribute.

This info was taken from Dutch Passion Seeds:

I'm pretty sure the seeds are white widow. Are they skunky when they're growing? I read somewhere that they have a strong odor, but no one really defined the type of odor.
