Anyone vegging under Gavita DE... veg foot print/height?

I'm sure many use DE lights for veg but couldnt find any specific info on vegging under DE HPS lighting. What is the veg footprint of a 1k Gavita DE?

I plan to use (3) 1k Gavita DE fixtures for a dedicated 8'x16'. I'm going to start them off on the 600w setting but any idea how high I should hang them?

Any feedback on vegging under DE lighting would be appreciated... thanks!

I got rid of my Gravita's 3-4 years back due to the cost vs performance

I didn't use them for vegging but it can be done 9-3usg pots to the lamp same as a 600w hps (12-15 under the 1Kw model)

I found no difference with single ended or double ended but I did run from these 9 months later when I had to replace the reflector inside
or is it s heat shield thats a rip every dam year thats a hidden cost ...be warned

I hung my lamps of dog tag chain and little fishing gear things you get in fish tackle shops but thats just bling

good luck

It's going to be pretty high at first, can't remember exactly but for seedlings at 600 watts, start at 5 feet, and use one of those free lux meters for your phone just to ballpark it-I think you need about 6-8k lux to start. Before anyone gets excited, I know they aren't accurate, but they're great for things like this.

Hey bud
For 600 setting = 60cm above canopy
For 750 setting= 70/80cm
1000 setting = 90/1.2m
Space them 1.2m centre to centre of the fixture and no closer than 500mm from ur outside walls
Id go at least 1.2m on 600 if you cant do 400 or lower on vegging also right underneath the lights are very intense red spec try keep it more towards the blue
