Anyone using the Magical Butter Machine?

So a chuck roast for example is simple..salt that baby up, turn it to 132 degrees. Vacuum seal the roast (or use a ziploc) i like vacuum sealers because you just drop in..ziplocs i pinch the sealing wnd with the lid. Anyways 132 degrees drop in a salted chuck roast at lunch one day...next day at dinner after 30 hours you end up with a medium rare roast with fat that melts and about as tender as prime. You just pull it out of the bag and sear it quick on each side and slice and serve.

This is my favorite method for beef rib plates...i have smoked them fully and they were delicious then i prepared them cooked the way in this recipe and it blew my mind:

Thank you so very much for the description and link. This is absolutely revolutionary to me. I feel like I'm being born again because this is completely changing my concept of meat preparation. And I'm highly motivated by food =) my wife battled throat cancer 6 years ago and has a significant amount of edema in her throat that makes eating most meats difficult. This manner of preparing a roast very well may allow her to enjoy steaks and roasts again. Thank you for your contributions here. I love this place a little more every day.

My first extract with the machine is underway. I used 17 ounces of MCT oil, 20 grams flower, and 30 grams trim all decarbed for 45 minutes at 250 degrees in a glass dish double wrapped with aluminum foil. I did the first hour at 160 degrees then stopped the machine to reset the temp to 190 for the 2nd hour. 160 degrees seemed a bit too low to me. I want to ensure the extract is potent and there's no risk of vaping off cannabinoids at 190, so I figured why not? I'll filter in 45 minutes when it's finished processing and I'll record how much oil I was able to recover out of the 17 ounces that went in. I will then ingest a measured but very sizeable dose and report back in a few hours to share the effects.

Something I thought was strange as I placed my order for the alcohol. I can't legally purchase 190 proof everclear in the state of michigan, but I can order a gallon of 200 proof pharmaceutical grade ethyl alcohol to my frojnt door. Doesn't seem to make much sense to me. $100 for a gallon to be delivered with hazmat fee. A fifth of everclear is usually about $20 so the price isn't inflated, but that's a lot of friggin alcohol. Shit will last me years. Wish this kinda service was available in my high school years. Woulda been a hell of a lot easier than finding someone's older brother or pulling a "hey mister" in front of the liquor store ;)

Strained, contained, unit cleaned, and 1/8 cup of fresh MCT oil down the hatch. I'll report back in a few hours how the effects are. What I noticed when the cook process was over is that I could have added another 3 or 4 ounces of trim. Once the material is wet with the oil and heated it condenses heavily. All the material was stuck to the bottom of the vessel and there was 3-4" of oil that could have been filled with much more material. Tomorrow I will run 8 oz of trim to 17 oz oil.

It definitely came out strong. I've had 3 monster expressos today and half a pot of coffee. That 1/8 cup of oil put me on my ass. The liquid is very dark though which is a lot of chlorophyll drawn out of the leaves from the trim material I added. I've decided I won't be adding trim to the machine again. It would be much better to hash wash it all in bubble bags. Decarb the bubble hash after it dries then add that to the magic butter machine for recipe starting material. I'll buy my ice tomorrow and process the bubble hash the following day. All in all the first run was a success. I have about 14 oz of potent oil left. I might try to incorporate it into some kind of food. Gotta scope out some recipes online. I like the idea of adding it to salad dressing. Easy and tasty. I'm wondering if I can just add an ounce to my pasta sauce in a bowl of spaghetti or something. I figure between a dinner salad loaded with oil and a nice bowl of spaghetti w/infused sauce I should walk away from the dinner table pretty good and wrecked :)

I have been thoroughly fucked up for 2 days solid. I made some Knorr beef rice in one of those little packets last night and instead of butter I added 2 oz of my special oil. I was walking sideways in the middle of the night on my usual piss patrols. I was so fucked up I didn't even partake in my usual snacking. Right back to bed. I didn't add any to my coffee this morning. Got shit to do today :) However, this silly little machine is life changing for me. I have severe bi polar disorder. The infused oil calms me down and makes me less reactive. More peaceful. At ease. I'll be taking this whole infused oil thing as far as I can. I may even get 00 capsules and a cap tray to make pills for on the go medicating. This is very cool to me. Having control over my own mind isn't something I've been accustomed to in a long time. For awhile I was buying gummy containers at the dispensaries 10+ at a time. I would eat 3-4 before bed. The next day I was medicated until a little after dinner time. Things that would normally make any human being fucked up angry and most certainly invoke a hostile reaction had zero effect on me. I was actually in retail management at the time and I would have customers act a-dam fool at the counter and get absolutely no reaction out of me. I had several customers comment over the course of a year or so how "chill" my demeanor was. I wasn't doing it on my own. It was only with the help of the infused gummy product that I was able to control my bi polar disorder. Gummy products at the dispensaries are very costly. I left my management job and was no longer able to afford $300 for my monthly gummy allotment along with my ability to control my bi polar. Now I'm back in control. I couldn't be more ecstatic. I really think the medical community missed the boat on using cannabis to treat psychiatric disorders. Fortunately with a little self discovery and determimation we're able to carve our own path these days and we can produce our own medicine to cure ourselves of some of the less desirable human conditions we're afflicted with. Life's hard, but it's a lot easier with a little medicine to help grease the wheels and smooth things out :)

Fantastic to hear that. So glad it is helping you out with your issues in the way you desire.

Needless to say I'll be running the extraction on the tincture setting for 8 hours in the garage with a fan blowing on the machine to dissipate any fumes that may escape the brew chamber. Not in the house with a cigarette hanging outta my mouth. I'm talking to you rednecks :)

I think you're supposed to do it next to a gas stove while you cook.

Also a great time for a family gathering. I like to burn a little incense. The aroma really sets the mood and brings people together. I don't know what it is, but the baby really seems to like the nog chompa. He likes to play fetch with the dog. Stupid baby thinks it's a dog toy. It's really cute though. He's gonna be a youtube star. I can feel it.

I received my magical butter machine yesterday. I plan to run an mct oil extraction today with flower. I also ordered 1 gallon of 200 proof lab / food grade non denatured ethyl alcohol for $101 and change with hazmat fee and delivery fee included. Shit is stupid expensive, but this should last me 10 years :)

I ordered a tray of 2oz amber eye dropper bottles to bottle up my tincture extracts and store them.

I'm excited to the tits to run the 200 proof alcohol through the machine @ 130 degrees F for 8 hours. That is gonna be some potent extract me thinks. I don't want to feel the burn of 200 proof alcohol when I ingest the tincture, so I will add my drops to my coffee or another beverage to hide the taste. 200 proof alcohol would burn like a mother if not diluted before ingestion.
I got the Amazon.com: STX Infuzium 420 Infused Butter-Oil-Tincture Maker Machine Complete Kit "2 Sticks/1 Cup up to 8 Sticks/4 Cups Butter" - 2 Filters, 3 Silicone Spatulas, Silicone Glove & Butter Mold Plus our Infuzium 48 Page Cookbook with Over 80 Magical Recipes/Tips: Kitchen & Dining

I first made tincture with alcohol, then I made the MCT tincture
The Alcohol tincture I let it evaporate off then made gummies with it.
Love the MCT Tincture.

first you should never buy from Amazon people have problems. I think it last longer with only wiping down top no water.

If you infuse the tincture 8 hours at 130 then press 160 and do 4 more trust me here I've run 50 batches over past few years I'm sure.....

I use ardent to decarb

FWIW... I think the MBM is pretty crappy. Really crappy. It does two things - infuse weed and keep the smell down.
But it maserates the weed, exposing all that plant material to your infusion - unnessarily. It gives it a worse 'weedy' taste.

I have much better results using a Sous-vide device. Also smell less
