I ordered enough to do 2 carrots per 5 gallon pot....I'm just hoping they will do enough for me to get through to harvest... I had some master growers tell me that I likely had a loss of biology in the soil due to under watering... This led to what looks like nitrogen toxicity and they said it was likely a side affect of the under watering. I just need to get this grow back on track and finish strong... I am using the earthboxes for my next auto run... Hoping this will fix my watering issues.I used 4 carrots to keep 4 plants watered for 6 days while I was out of town. They all did fine. Roots had grown all around the carrot so the plant seemed to like it. Wouldnt do it long term (in a 5g pot and don't think one carrot can saturate the pot completely) but they were awesome while I couldn't be there.
I'm guessing the tropf blumats would be the preferred method.. but it is a little more involved. The classic is super simple. It does say on their website that the classic is suitable for indoor potted plants. I would rather use 3-4 classic blumats for now then to get too involved with 4-6 weeks to go.I believe you should be using tropf blumats not classic. But thats what I read, those guys will help you through @xtsho @Jjgrow420 maybe
Not a master grower or anything even close, but maybe some Recharge could get your biology going again?I ordered enough to do 2 carrots per 5 gallon pot....I'm just hoping they will do enough for me to get through to harvest... I do have recharge...Not a master grower or anything even close, but maybe some Recharge could get your biology going again?
I am using dry organic amendments. I just watched the video. That doesn't look too hard to set up. I am going to use the classic blumats I ordered already to try getting me through the next month. Then I'll look into the other system. I like the idea of a self watering system I can't screw up. I also like the sub irrigated planters option...What are you feeding? Can't use bungy nutes with blumats you'll get clogs.
Can you add bacteria like mammoth P to the blumat res? Or will that clog it up too? What are you feeding? Can't use bungy nutes with blumats you'll get clogs.
I don't think the bacteria would do so well in a reservoir. The Bacteria would seem to flourish at it's best in a soil environment. Just a hunch on my part. I'm considering the Classics myself and after reading this thread will be checking into the Trop f blumats before buying. And.... I got the Classics instead, can't beat the price for admission on those and like the initial post I'd mainly be using these for while away which are far and few in between. Specifically for the 4x2 tent. Can you add bacteria like mammoth P to the blumat res? Or will that clog it up too?
