I like the idea of automation based on medium moisture levels. I almost bought a similar system called SmartBee a few years ago. They are all too expensive though.

The problem I see with this is you only have one sensor. If all of your plants are drinking the same amount of water then it would work fine, but it kind of defeats the purpose if not.

Well at least you can hookup 4 sensors so you can get a great idea of the average of the set

Pay double and you can get 4 whole sensors
