I didn't have much going on in flower when I posted in this thread the first time. Now that some time has past I can post some pics. These girls are flowering under t5 EyeHortilux Powerveg 24" flouresent tubes. Two fixtures with 4 tubes in each. Using the 660nm, 633nm and the full spectrum with UV. A few pics to show, I have more in my grow journal. No issues with bud density, they seem very tight and firm soo far!

Yes I still use T5s I've a 4 tube maxibright lightwave and 4x nlite singles between them they're my early veg seed/clone and mother lighting during autumn/winter/spring outside of summer led doesn't produce the heat I need for acceptable temps with so little wattage.
Summers here and I've changed to led.
Now I've only a 1c deficit between inside and outside my tent inside is only 22/23c which is good in the circumstances I'm not looking for them to grow quickly.

Before I unplugged the T5s i put the light meter on the tray it was 1650 something for 98w to get the same 1650 something from led i needed 32w or 34w, i think 32w but it was over 2 weeks ago and you know what it's like :joint:
It's at 50w now for maintenance.

I'm about to start seeds i would actually prefer T5s for the job 4k light doesn't have that same rich blue spectrum which i like for seedlings in a small tent plus the temps from T5s would be benificial to the seedlings.

It's decided then lol.

The cool thing about using T5s for mother plants and clones/seedlings is that you don't have to dial in the distance and % perfectly like you do with LED. A mother plant will grow amazing 2 inches from a group of t5s, or 12 inches (at different growth rates)-you don't have that kind of leeway with LEDs. Plants LOVE the light from t5s. It's also just easier to keep mother plants healthier under them as well-you don't need to tweak their feed as much as with LED.
