Anyone leave their plants in the dark for a few days before harvest?

Ive read a few places that some filks leave the plants without lights for two days or so beforw harvest...reason being,the plants will give a final push of thc into buds...seems like a geowers myth to me but Id like to hear what everyone else out there thinks

It's been tried by many growers over the years ,I tried it many years ago ,and a couple times since the only thing I really noticed is the resin comes off the the plant on your hands more than normal ,thinking the plants sweat up creating a moisture barrier

In Ed rosenthals Grow book he says that it takes 24 hrs for all the carbs in the plant to migrate back down to the roots. The 2 days in dark was to be sure so the flowers taste better sooner.

I have not tried it as I run a perpetual and the flower room is always on 12/12.

But I do chop at or before lights on to minimize uptake before harvest.

Tried it, did not notice a difference. Give it a try yourself.

Kind of thought it made the pistils stand out more, didn't really like that effect. May have had some small effect on some strains but I didn't really notice an appreciable difference to be honest so stopped doing it
