Anyone know what happens if.

Anyone know whats going to happen to all the people in jail on BS MJ charges in states were they make legal? Like Calie in Nov. Will these people have to server out their sentence cause it was b4 they made it legal? Will these cases be looked at under the new laws? Lastly who plans on employing any of the X cons once released or will their records be wiped as well?

They will have to serve out their sentence because they committed a crime when it was illegal. I doubt they will have their records wiped, they may have an easier time getting their records expunged because of the new laws though.

Then again, I'm not a lawyer even though I play one on tv.

...depends if the new law is "retroactive" or not.

I was just thinking of the impact on the already gross job market if we are going to release 1,000s of people for petty MJ crimes.

If caught before the law changed, they are wrong and the charges will stay on their record...But they may be fast tracked for early release to save prison space and money...but they will still have the record...IMHO.
