“ Making “ custom soil would cost money to put together.

Where as a good bag of potting soil is around $20 ( + or - )

Yard dirt would be a crap shoot - clay , nutrient deficient, compacted , unsterile , etc.

Don’t have money or ride to go get soil my only solution is dirt anyone know how to make it so I can grow with it ?
I guess you could plant directly into the ground?

You might as well start saving up for the proper supplies you need to be successful in this hobby. It will cost you about $20 for potting soil (you can order everything from Amazon!), plus whatever nutrients you need, your tent, containers, ventilation system and and lights. (Don’t get the blurple light, they’re outdated and they suck.)

It’s expensive to get started properly, but once you get it out of the way, you can grow weed in perpetuity (at least until someone needs replacing).

Start a compost pile, duh! Save all your kitchen scraps that don't contain meat - banana peels, egg shells, coffee grounds, rotten/spoiled produce, etc and start piling it up in your back yard. Add yard waste like dead leaves and twigs and grass clippings. If you have a bait shop nearby, get some worms to go in there too. If you can make some sort of structure to contain it, so it doesn't just spread out everywhere, that will also help.

Flip/turn the pile every couple weeks for like 8 months to a year, until it starts to look pretty thoroughly decomposed, and more like dirt almost.

Then mix that 50/50 with dirt from your yard and plant into it. It'll take a lot of time and some effort, but in the end it will be some seriously good soil for practically zero cost.

ETA: also if there are wild flowering-type plants and weeds growing in the "dirt" around your house, then cannabis will also probably grow in it. It won't be the greatest plant ever, and you might want to till the ground before just planting straight into it if it's really compacted, but still...

Purple (or blurple) lights are probably best used for slow growing houseplants, not a light-hungry and fast growing plant like cannabis.

You don’t need to spend a fortune, I snagged a 600w on Amazon for under $50, and a 1000w for about $80. You’re trying to mimic the sun, after all, so go with the best lighting you can afford.

1 part compost
1 part peatmoss
1 part pine bark fines

then get dry organic/inorganic amendments to add to make your own soil, i do this for my vegetable garden its actually pretty cheap. Get pine bark fines at your local gardening store and some landscaping companies sell it too, its cheap.

This site sells soil and amendments but this link shows how they build a mix using the old Clackamas coots recipe…

I've been using their Nutrient Pack for re-amending my mix for several cycles now, although I started combining it with Espoma Tomato tone for the higher K levels...

Tad's podcast is pretty good too. It tends to be pretty dry/technical, but lots of good info and knowledgeable guests.
