Not exactly sure where they fit in here of if anyone here uses them.
Im looking to get some ideas as im looking to build one I wanted to get some feedback on what works for people and what doesn't.
If im in the wrong catagory I humbly appologise and would someone direct me to the right catagory?

Thanx much

I'm going for a greenhouse too. They have an aluminum frame one with opaque white covering so you can't see in it but the sun penetrates it. Dimensions are 8x12x6 They have this product at Menards right now on clearance for $139. Normally 299. It's a discontinued product. I'm picking up one asap.

nice.. i looked at some of those..
I am looking at either building using pvc pipe or treated 2x4 lumber..
if i use the pipe im going to place poly over it and make it a double layer with air inbetween for winter... if i go with the lumber im going to poly it inside and out.. to give me a 3-1/2" pocket of still air for insulation...
there is a coating for the poly that makes it opaque ive used in commercial greenhouses...
the coating does great at keeping visibility low.. but also cuts down on sunlight reaching thru... (not much but a little bit) something to concider if you are using lights in conjuction with it...
if you get it id love to see some pics

just curious... are you looking at using it year round? or just to extend seasons...

thanx

If you are in an area that gets snow or frost it is good to elevate your green house, Use cinder blocks, rail road ties, ext, to make the elevated foundation and build of that, Fill in the floor with dirt/soil. this will help keep it warm inside.

i want one of these discounted greenhouse but we don't have menards here. i checked home depot as say nothing i could use. well there is the 11 x 11 x 8 screen house. i was thinking maybe just put corrugated fiberglass on top instead of the canvas. this would also keep the bugs out. i have worries about the wind though. it can get pretty strong here.

11 x 11 x 8 screen house.
I don't think that shack is big enough for the tree's you grow, You need something more like 20f.L x 12f.W x 12f.H. You better weld your self a frame, and get some big sheets of tempered glass..

I think that skunk magazine had some plans for a pvc pipe based greenhouse..
ill try to find some links and stuff for what ive been looking at...
glass is supperior for a green house.. but its cost can make it prohibitive..
most commercial green houses ive worked at had a double layer of plastic with box fans to keep a "gas bubble" for insulation purposes..
anywho
back to the drawing board..

Mother Earth News: The Original Guide to Living Wisely
is where i get alot of my ideas from..
some of the libraries out your way subscribe to it...
its kind of a hippy self sufficient magazine.. for those who havent heard of it...
they have some good stuff on growing your own organic food.. which most of that is plants.. so i just try to use what they have.. and translate it to the plant im growing at the time.. in this case some imaginary wacky tobaco
