Anyone hike the AT?

My little brother and me made it over tray mountian back in our earlier days. We had no idea what we were doing, we had an iron skillet and every thing in the kitchen we could carry. Back packs weight about 80+ pounds, damn thought I was going to die. LMFAO We had a journal 0n our trip I'll see if I can find it, but sorry can help with back packing. Just go lite. Thanks this brought back some funny as hell times.

haven't hiked the apalachian trail but i've hiked/camped out god knows how many times.

keep it light. all of your food should be in cans, that way you can heat it up inside the can..... no need for an iron skillet.

matches, flashlights, a tent, sleeping bag, some sort of weapon in case you run into a large wild animal, a rain poncho, a dry set of socks in a zip-lock bag. you'd be surprised how wrong meteorologists are sometimes.....

the most important thing is telling somebody when your leaving and when to expect you back so they call if you get lost.... have fun...

yea thanks was thinking of doing 80-100 miles first time out so won't be able to do too much hiking i think it will be a good time if i find time to do it
