Anyone heard of amber crystals?

i made a trip to a dispensary yesterday in down town berkeley, and picked up some amber crystals.... im wondering if anyone knows exactly what these are and what is the best possible way to smoke them? i think i remeber the guy saying something about dehydrated amber oil or something of that matter. any info helps thanks!

it is either kief or dry BHO. is it powdery or solid?

put it on top of a bowl.
if it is too solid, get a pookie.
 
its like a golden crystal that is very solid and is definately translucent golden brown.... definitely not kief ive never seen anything like these before.

So i checked your tutorial, and you do everything exactly like me, except for 2 things...

1. I made my own extractor cuz im a cheap ass...
2. Yours is fully dry, now I havent ever put mine on a warmer before, I just let it sit out for a day or 2. DOes the warmer dry it out like in the pics above?
Or is there another process?
Ive attempted other ways to store it, like taking the BHO and trying to cook it down further with 99.9% ISO so that I can get it into viles but that was a waste of time.
I would really like to dry my next batch of oil like in your pics.

I also added you to the Hash Factory social group hoping that you can share some insight with this new group as people begin to join.

i've change quite a few things. i use a big flat pan now. i let it dry at least 5 - 7 days, depending on how much i make. i use either kief or ground hash in my extractor. no more trimmings. trimmings yield low. throw in an ounce of ground hash, blast it about 10 seconds and it's done. you only need about a 1/3 of a can of butnae. :bigjoint::bigjoint:

I have yet to try somthing other than trim, Thank you for the tips... you got my mind working again..... its been a while.. bongsmilie
Now i get to try somthing new.
 
Fdd - Please post a reminder when you edit you BHO recipe. With my luck, either way I'll do it backwards!

i use this method also, except my yield blows..... i used a half ounce of stem / bud / kief put it in a turkey baster ( after i ripped off the rubber end ) added a screen to the bottom, put in the bud and blasted it, but my butane doesnt look at all as yellow as yours and evaporated in about 1 hours.. for every half ounce i would get 1.5-2.5g's depending on how much bud/kief/stem i used... this shit gets you high tho...

What are you using for filters? I use 3-5 coffee filters and get yellow to amber oil with just trim.
 
this was not a butane extract, and i'm personally Very interested in their dehydration process as water trapped in CO2 concentrate makes it a low viscosity substance. i had the solid form before i came across the butane hash oil scene, and no one believes the stable golden shatter i had early on was actually CO2. i have to get to this dispensary and check it out, but they've got it stocked right now :)
