Anyone familiar with using AquaShield .....

  • DWC grow using FoxFarm Nutes, Room temp 74f, Water temp 69-70f, leaves look wilted but are hard/stiff, No smell coming from roots only the normal nutes smell, Some of the roots break off when tried to wipe some off with my fingers, I moved lights further away just today in case they were too close ( They are cfl's so not so hot anyway ),

    New growth is coming out fast where they were topped.

    My question is that for the last 5 days I started AquaShield - but seems to have gotten worse. Can any one tell me how long does it take before you see this product start to work ? I first tried H202 (21%) treatments for 2 weeks, but didn't work so I am trying AShield... have u been using the full line or just parts of it

they have several parts to the system and they sell them in parts
 
Looks like pythium to me. You need to take your plant out and empty the water and clean every surface with warm water and dish soap. You need new water and perhaps a very powerful set of air stones. Is this the first time you have used this hydro system? Did you make it yourself?

Hey Mr.Justugh.... Are you talking about the nutes (FoxFarm) if so, Yes..using their feeding chart. If your talking about AquaShield...No, If there is a line of other products - I didn't know about it.
 
also, maybe it's just the pic, but it looks like your net basket is hanging into the water.

I have done this twice within a 7 day period.....but not the net pot....after I mix everything together (nutes/AquaS/etc) I pourded it through the top of the pot to run through the rocks and roots to try to clean it. --- Is there something else or a different way to clean the rocks/roots/net pot safely ? Thank you for your help

It is ---- is this possibly the problem? I have read that you keep pot in up to 1/4 inch of the water till you have enough roots touching the water then lower it 1/2 inch above water level....Is this wrong ? So maybe I am causing them to rot? If so, what do I do now ? Is it too late, should I start over cause these roots might continue to die off ? ? ?
 
it might be part of what caused it, a lot of ppl just top water till the roots are long enough. the basket should pretty much just get bubble pop splashes afaik. idk if it's just bc of it making it way to wet or the hydroton crushes roots if it's moving all the time.

Are you talking g about botanicares aquashield? The one that says "liquid compost solution"? I'm running an aeroponic setup, and using botanicares kind line with the aquashield. Still experiencing some slime, but not too bad. Used in conjunction with peroxide it really helps battle the sludge. That and I do a good res/pump clean when I change my res.

Yes, that's the same one.... I read off their website that they don't recommend using peroxide together with AquaShield because it kills off useful micro's in the A.Shield.... But your like the fourth or fifth person that uses both together...so I am going to make a new mix with both this time.... and thanks... but, how do you clean your net pot from the slime???? :leaf:
 
with it being sunday and u ordering it now u will have it wensday do u think they can last 7 days

3 to get to u 4 to recover ...........i say keep it and count it as a exp u are running if it lives golden if not u learned so not total lose

and yah they are part of the over all line ..........they design it like this those i list are just part of the full fox farm system .....they have cleaning stuff too ( u could try voodoo juice too hear it is really good)

personally i mix and match a little from all the product lines one does better then others so i keep that part and try the next part

u could try the flora product line........it worked great for me and it is a all in the box one buy plan including cleaning/flushing the plant

at this point i know many ppl ................what is our crazy story that will tell me who u are (just rem those werid details what i am looking for ) been alot of party nights and half naked women in the room

it helps if someone caught themself on fire .........shot off a part of the body..........fell into the camp fire from being to drunk ........took to much stuff and geeked out and had to be tackled...........or something blew up or burnt down

never calmed down just figured out it was pointless to argue with a rock .............some ppl can learn some ppl are just good fodder for the fight .......not my job to save them or help them anymore past the time for most ppl the ones that have a chance are beyond the need of me .............now i am just here learning skills for planting (helping ppl kills time and increases my learning curve on the subject figure 8 more months and i should have master this )

thinking of taking up the flute or finally learning to write with my feet
