Anyone else not impressed w/Live extracts?

I have tried several different strains and manufacturers of these "live" extractions. Where the plant is harvested and flash frozen before extraction. To me it is the taste. To me it tastes like im smoking fresh (wet) weed. I think it is a clorofill taste. Idk. Also noticed that at least in WA they were all over the store shelves for about 6 months. Now not as popular. Was it just another cannabis trend? Personally I hope so. Does anyone think like me? Or is everyone in agreement the live stuff tastes better? Def not as strong. What do yo guys think?

i thought the live resin was heat pressed with dried and cured buds, not just harvested and frozen?

Life resin is harvested while the plant is basically still alive, was my understanding. With it being “live” and all. At least that’s been my understanding. Are you thinking of “rosin”? Because that is dried, cured, and heat pressed

Maybe it’s just a personal preference? I tried all kinds of different concentrates before I just finally came to the conclusion that smoking home grown buds are unbeatably enjoyable. Even concentrates I made myself from my buds.

all of the live resin ive had around here has been amazing and extremely flavorful. The crystals are all thc and everything else is like a terp sauce.
This is some of the best stuff ive ever had.

Yup, that's the stuff. Not a fan. Tried all different kinds/manufacturers. Just doesn't taste as good as some good, flavorful wax or shatter/pull n snap...IMO. Guess it is matter of preference.

Any time I tried a "high end" product, I guess I was expecting a lot more. I didnt find a huge difference between them and standard shatter I get made from good products. Maybe I just fell for marketing, IDK. I guess I was just expecting flavors that would open up new doors in my mind, shit like that, lol.

It seems like im tasting clorofill along with the terpenes. Idk It has turned me off to even waste my starting material on. Last time i cropped i almost put a half lb. In the deep freezer to run later, but decided against it, and dried and cured everything as usual. Ill probably try running it "live" at some point. For the sake of experimentation.

I found this explanation in an article about live resin vs terp sauce.

"Essentially, the main difference is the use of fresh, flash-frozen flowers as sticky green raw material. Technically, this means live resin is similar to terp sauce, but definitely not the same thing.
Sure, you get a high terpene content in your live resin extract, but it’s not nearly as potent, with THC levels typically peaking in the high teens. Moreover, many live resin extracts contain the rather unpleasant and grassy tasting terpene phytol. Terp sauce won’t be tainted by this particular terpene because the flowers were cured first."

This is good to know, I am starting to pres rosin myself and don't have any fresh frozen but was going to try some later. Maybe I won't bother, I do like fresh frozen bubble, but here is my latest hobby.

Live Resin is hands down my favorite extract. It has important applications for extractors also. Best way to learn how to mine diamonds is with live resin. Get the method down with live resin and move to less fresh bud. In my opinion anyway. And a superior flavor with all unactviated everything. everything stays in its acididc form.

So that great big chip prolly has plenty of resin mashed into the plant material and prolly would still get a person blazed if they smoked it.
What do people do with the chips?
