Anyone else feel like the Med card is a trap?

Sometimes I feel like Az would use the Medical Card as a way to track, locate, and arrest us for possession. Anyone else feel the same?

hahaha thats a funny joke the us government would never think of doing such a thing

lots of people seem to be freaked out about this possibility. I would rather risk defending my self in court in AZ with a card than without. Federally it doesn't matter and they could go after the million plus patients with cards but I see that as unlikely given the current stance on medical patients. Dispensary's and cultivation centers are probably screwed but patients should be left alone from the feds.

all your patient information is considered medical obviously and thus protected by the privacy act of 1976 they cant get your medical records and pick through them and use them against you. wouldnt hold up in court for shit. this arguement happens in cali all the time because a state card is optional and cali dr.s dont send your info to the state it stays in house. i know because i own a dr. office for medical mj lol

it is a violation of the statute for azdhs to disseminate any personal information regarding the azmmj program to any other government agency. law enforcement or anyone else would need a subpeona or a search warrant signed by a judge and at that point they already would have evidence or probable cause against you.

yea I would also rather be on "a list" and have a tangible piece of legal defense then to ever have to go through az drug court again.

I agree the Feds want drug traffickers the guys raking in large amounts of money. I highly doubt they even care about someone growing 12 plants

I would be at least a little paranoid - especially given the economic and political times in which we live. Government's infiltration of the medical industry is something to be concerned about because they will be able to collect more information about users and exert more control.

If they want to take you down, they will find a way and a reason.

Wow I knew that years of not upholding the will of the public in AZ got us complacent but paranoid? I think life is too short to worry about "The Man" busting down your door and shooting you dead in the ditch. It's time that ya'll became more engaged in the political process instead of being afraid of it.

I do not feel that way because for 1, No police dept has the resources to check on every patient, which they would "have" todo. If checking on some, you have to check on All, legal wise. So I am not worried.

Applies to DRUG TESTS at a Job.. if your job does not mandate Drug Tests as a requirement for Hire.. then Legally they can not drug test you without drug testing the Entire company.

Example:: A company who does not Drug test prior to Hire. Cannot all the sudden drug test ONE individual for any reason.

I was asked to take a test for my job.. I refused and asked that all employees take one as well, Never heard from it again. going on 4 years.

It costs alot of MONEY for a business to test every employee. So if they don't require it for HIRE, never take one in the future.

i dont know if its the same thing. but for me in california, u just get your script(perscription) and its on the person if he wants his state issued medical card. my doctor recomended me not getting it. plus it costs more money.

I noticed that when I went with my buddy to the CA dispensaries. They always make you show proof with a big ass certificate type paper.
