Anybody know the saturation point of coconut oil and or alcohol

Wondering if any one has done any testing to find the saturation point of the binding agents we typically use. Like coconut oil, I use one oz per cup of oil, now if I strain that and put another oz of cannabis in that oil, at what point dose the oil stop binding with the cannanoids.
I’m thinking in terms of cancer / lymphoma treatments as well as colon , stomach and many intestinal tract conditions. So I want it as strong as possible.

After researching for a while,I settled on 1/4 oz.. bud per cup of coconut oil, and 1 oz. bud per cup of alcohol. I'm sure you could add more,but at some point there will be diminishing returns.

I cook my pot up in coconut oil at a 10:1 ratio. 1g pot for every 10g of oil. After pressing the oil out in a fine metal sieve I keep the 'puck' in a labelled bag in the freezer and use it in smoothies or baked goods. 5g of that in a smoothie is strong enough to get me baked if it's regular pot. Less so if it's hi-CBD pot that it was made from. That way nothing is wasted. Other than me of course.

How I make it is in my sig if you want to see what I do. Have a couple of friends who bring me their pot and get me to cook it up for them. I keep the puck for my efforts. Have a few different ones to select from.

Cannabinoids and coconut oil are miscible, which means they'll combine in any ratio. I don't think you'll have any saturation-type effects. The practical upper limit has to do with how to get a small amount of oil off a large amount of plant matter.

If you have a centrifuge, you could possibly make oil extracts that are more cannabinoids than coconut oil. They'll dissolve completely.

Canabineer thanks for the reply ,
I was thinking more along the line of running my normal crock pot method.
Decarbed cannabis covered in coconut oil in a crock pot ( I usually cook it 8-10 hrs) , then strain as normal and add more decarbed cannabis and run again. Just courious as to how strong I can get it without wasting cannabis , for use in jell caps. And possibly suppository form to treat colon type cancers.

I don't know.
There is a point of diminishing returns because getting all the oil away from the plant material is practically impossible.
So where the optimum lies between yield efficiency and final product potency depends upon more than one factor.

A friend made coconut oil edible, about 1 ounce of flowers to 6 or 8 ounces of coconut oil. The resultant oil worked nicely in the big gelatin caps.

I decarb mine as I cook it in the crock pot so all the terpenes etc are trapped in the oil and not wasted stinking up my house by using a variac to increase the voltage to the crock pot thus raising the temp. 1g of good bud to 10g of oil for a strong batch. 1tsp gets me baked.

I've found smaller variacs online for $40 - $50 and you don't need a high power one for a crock pot. Got a small crock pot at the local thrift store for $5 and it will do about a 400ml batch. I generally do a 300ml batch that after straining fills a 250ml mason jar almost to the top. Have used a full sized crock pot to make a 1000ml batch and it worked fine too.

I got an Ardent Lift. It is a decarb machine and i found out after you decarb it you can put herb and your oil in a small glass bottle (i used a standard 10 tablespoon measure cup which is in the cooking section of stores) in the machine and infuse it. It is the most effective means i have used to make buds decarbed and i will verify how it works for infusing later.

The 10 tablespoon measure is perfect for a pot of coffee. That is why i had it in the first place now it is a multi-tool

1 hour 45 to decarb and 1 hour 45 to infuse. It does 1/2 cup at a time but that is enough for a batch of brownies.

It really works well. I have eaten buds whole after they are decarbed and they were very effective. I even decarbed a green bud with it and it was really weird to eat but wow was that strong.

Currently I am using a 1/4 in 1/2 cup of clarifried butter and olive oil. I accidently spilled the butter on my counter and it was clean so i wiped it up with bread..This is the strongest edible oil I have ever made..I am selling the butter machine.

And the ardent doesnt stink. It has a silicone sealer thing and it is barely noticeable. Not like that whirring stirring butter machine.

For making oil, we use an authentic magic butter machine. Our experience has been a far more potent product than what we used to get with a crock pot. I am also interested in knowing how much THC coconut oil will absorb. One thing I have done with the magic butter machine is make one batch of oil first. Extract all of the cannabanoids out of that, then add new buds to that oil. Repeat the process on already infused oil. Doing that effectively doubles the potency. That shows that the upper limit of saturation must be pretty high.
