Just curious because ive never heard of one that bred true for the trait and I wanted to be the first one to do it
ive heard of 1 or 2 that sometimes get pink pistils but never one that consistently produced this trait in the offspring.
Pink pistils would have to be a properly stabilized trait and with cannabis there are usually more than 1 pheno and trying to create a strain for pistil color would be, well kinda pointless. Even if you did successfully find a strain that had pink pistils they wouldn't stay that way as when it came harvest time they will recede just like all the rest and be either a red, white or brown or purple hue.
I was wanting to grow the snowcap romulan but then did some research and seen what it really looks like the majority of the time and decided not to waste my time on finding a "pretty" plant.
Most pictures you will see that claim to have pink pistils are more than likely photoshopped, just like the rainbow weed.

Me neither, and a little searching shows nothing promising either. Specifically for indoor autos that is. There are various strains and crosses that have phenos with pink 'hair' but usually outdoors (actually seems common to show outdoors and not indoors for some strains), and not bred true in auto.ive never heard of one that bred true for the trait
What you're basically saying is the trait is more interesting for growers than the eventual consumer(s) of the bud, which is true, but that doesn't make it 'pointless'. While the eventual consumer looks at the bud for minutes before it goes up in smoke, a grower, the buyer of the seeds, looks at the plant throughout the cycle a lot more often. Same with many strains that produce purple leaves but not purple buds, and many other characteristics such as seed size and texture, many growers appreciate that too even though it doesn't affect the look of the bud directly.trying to create a strain for pistil color would be, well kinda pointless. when my kandy corn gets a bit taller ill sneak a couple of them out there and start photo shoppingthe reason I ask is because ive already created an autoflowering strain that sports pink pistils outdoors and im working on stabalizing that trait as we speak.
if thats your only goal then yeah id say kind of pointless, but my strain is a pretty nice all around package and now that ive stabalized most of the important things like color, smell, resin, size, flower time, branching, im going to lock down my pink pistils because as anyone who grows purps knows its not just the destination but the journeywho doesnt like seein fat, frosty purple buds in the grow room? now what if you could have pretty ass pistils too? sounds like a winner in my book
the only issue with my pistils is you only see them outdoors.
ive attached a few pics of an F5 plant from different angles just starting to pink up. NO PHOTOSHOP
the last 3 are from my F4 generation

Why does the concrete in the background look pinker than the pistols?the reason I ask is because ive already created an autoflowering strain that sports pink pistils outdoors and im working on stabalizing that trait as we speak.

I agree with what you are saying and I understand the point as I look for special traits myself and I'm sure you do as well. I love photography so the look benefits me just doesn't have anything to do with quality is all I was really trying to say. Don't get me wrong I think cannabis is a beautiful plant and would love to grow a strain with traits that produce pink pistils as that would make for some fantastic pics.Me neither, and a little searching shows nothing promising either. because im using a metro phone camera LMAOWhy does the concrete in the background look pinker than the pistols?
I feel ya. Just had to ask. Best of luck achieving your goals.because im using a metro phone camera LMAO
why would I lie about something like that? so i can look stupid when someone grows out a strain and instantly lose all credibility when ive put in years of work? haha nope im 100% transparent look at my log bruthah man![]()
Hey congrats on the new yet old genetics, and that sounds like a good plan.I got my hands on a plant that actually DOES display pink pistils indoors!!!! its cherrybomb by mr greengenes an inbred mauii wowie cut from the 70's its like an F20 something lol
I won the beans in an auction and only got 1 to pop and she sports pink indoors, i also sourced more of the cherrybomb from another breeder to use to find more gems, plus i want to help maintain this american landrace for generations to come......
