Anybody know if theese are 2 different strains?

Hi all
Newbie here, need some advice. I have 2 plants about 1.5 months old in veg state. One is growing really well, the other is short and stubby. The leaves are quite different between the 2 plants. The "good plant" has thin, narrow leaves and the "stubby" plant has fat thick leaves. The seeds are from some really good weed that was given to me.
The stubby plant smells really skunky and the good plant doesn't smell at all. Both seeds were germinated and sprouted at the same time. Both plants were cared for in the exact same manner, using 2 T8 Philips Natural Sunlight bulbs, 18 hours of light, lots of ventilation, foliage feeding every day, ph is good.

Can anybody tell me if these two plants are 2 different strains and why does the stubby one smell and the other doesn't?

Thanks in advance :bigjoint:

even if their not diffrent strains they could be diffrent phenos like diffrent type same strain

its an expression of genes. like you and your brother can look diffrent even with same parents...even twins can plants are the same when they breed they look for the special plant or pheno from a group of plants of the same strain then cross them male-female hybred is same princible but yould look for best male from a strain and best female from another

they could easily be the same plant. both are indicas, so i wouldnt be suprised if they were the same. lookin good though!

Ur not wasting ur time if u enjoy doing this
u wont know what u got unless u get it from a clone or put it into flower
the tallest,more vigorous plants r usually male....just a tip

Yeah they look like they are mostly indica, (bushy) just praying that they are female. Surprised that they turned out soo well with the t8 bulbs and chip bags. Showed a few growers my pics, they were stunned and said that I was using a HID lamp. The plants are actually bigger then they look, I guess it's the huge buckets I got them in LOL.
Thanks for the info guys. You know why I love weed so much....there is always something interesting to learn :)

Thanks Mr Ganja
I had a feeling that the taller one might be male, but does this mean the stubby one might be female since it smells quite skunky already?

its possible
but u wont know for sure unless u force it to flower or grow it long enough in veg stage to reach sexual maturity to see preflowers
goodluck with ur grow

not a waste of time looking good. it takes time hope at least 1 is female youll know soon. you might consider vegging for awhile then taking clones

Thanks guys
I was afraid that the taller plant was going to be root bound soon, so I topped the plant, and now I do finally see some pre flowers, little white hairs where I cut the top node off. I'm so excited. I was afraid the taller plant was going to be male. The pics are out of date. I have new ones in my profile and I will add new pics after Christmas

Hope everyone has a good Christmas

If anybody wanted to know, both my plants are female. I see can see preflowers on both plants now, i'm a proud parent : ) Happy New Year
