Anybody know how 2 make plants branch out?

I got 2 master kush clones that are about 3 feet tall right now but the plants are not really busy there grow tall fast i wanted 2 know if anybody has any tips on branching them out especially the bottom branches? they told me 2 tie them down or top them but this is my first year i wanna ask around first. if any bodt has an easy way let me know Thanks.

If you tie them down (LST) it exposes the little bud sites to more sunlight, so they branch out more.

I was worried that my plant wasn't branching until I tied her down, and now I've got a couple of little branches with 2-4 leaf nodes on each.

I'm pretty sure that the more branches you have, the higher your yield will be. This is my first real grow, so I don't trust anything that tells be to cut my buds/branches off and possibly kill my only plant. I'm sticking with LST because I've seen some nice changes so far.

Anybody know how 2 make plants branch out?
