i've tried several things,

garbage, can't see a damn thing, impossible to keep steady

crap garbage piece of shit. you can see an area about the size of a pinhead, IF you can make it line up at all.

the screen is tiny, can't make out any details. it does take good screen shots, but the live image is the size of a stamp.

this one is good if you have a laptop, i don't so i have to drag plants close to my desktop to use. it does produce a nice clear image, though

the only thing i actually recommend, simple, works, cheap. the light on it isn't very effective, i've learned to hold stuff so its in the light, and to look at trichs from the side, they all look milky from straight overhead

Any suggestions for a magnifier to check trichomes?

I have several and its nearly impossible to look at them on the plant.

Anyone use a magnifier attached to a phone?

Thanks,

Alta

This is my favorite. I bought a couple and extra batteries.

It has a nice wide eyepiece and is easy to focus in and hold still. Not too much magnification so you get a nice field of view.
