Any process before you use the seeds you breed ?

Hi there,

I'm starting to use some seeds I breed last summer so they are around 2 months old. I noticed that they take quite long to sprout which doesn't happen with the seeds I breed last summer which would be around 14 months old.

So the question is, should I wait a few more months before I use this seeds ? I did read that the best is to use them within the first year, but didn't find anything about when to start using them.

I have a question for you? Did you store them in the frig? I have found that putting them in there for usually a month or more them seem to sprout faster. I believe that Mj could be like many other seeds and respond well to overwintering before germing to ensure survival. I have no source to back this opinion up so it is just an observation I have noticed over the years. I will say that I have 15 seeds germing now which have not been in the frig, just strays I have found over the past several months and threw them into the papertowel, they are slow slow. Hope this helps it works for me.
Merry Christmas

thanks for your reply canefan, I've never had seeds in the fridge. I keep them in small seed containers (not sure how they are called) with some rice grains for the humidity and in the dark. That's how I had last year's seeds (in the same box) and they are perfectly fine :) I'm running a test right now with 21 seeds but I thought I would ask to see if you have to let them dry for 4-6 months or something.

Maybe I'll have to germinate some of this seeds in a few months and see if they sprout faster :)
