Is there a downside to spraying Avid, other than the fact that it's inorganic? It's worked miracles for me. I understand that the organic grower is opposed to the use of stuff such as Avid/floramite etc, but that doesn't change the fact that it works. It's also not hurting anything by spraying your vegging plants with it as a preventative measure.

Maybe my initial post should've come with a disclaimer lol. Don't use Avid unless you have to bro!! It's a big no-no in the organic farming world. (Secretly we all use it though) Just don't expect to win any awards for your buds because trace levels are always detectable post harvest.

If you're selling meds that have been sprayed with avid as "organic" that's really fucked up. And you certainly don't speak for any of the organic growers I know.

I see better results with organic ferts, and love having a living soil medium for the babes to thrive in. Nothing is ever labeled organic/inorganic. I agree that that would be fucked up.

You should be careful how you word that. You come off sounding like a first rate asshole. You're wording definitely implies you are an organic grower that secretly uses avid.
@kfos I would start with neem and maybe some other organic sprays if needed, captain Jacks has spinosad and is organic. using alternating treatments of that and neem will keep
Bugs from building up resistances to either. Good luck. Stay away from anything that will have trace levels detectable post harvest. Think about your health and the world's. Be safe and happy farming.

I use Avid because it works. I grow organic because it works. Synthetic pesticides are somewhat of a "hush hush" taboo these days, and for that reason, it's not talked about. Abamectin (Avid) is used in the vast majority of all commercially grown crops. Oranges, lettuce, tomatoes, cannabis. Like I said, in this county, in this industry, nothing is falsely labeled as "organic". It doesn't need to be. I see your argument for sure. I shouldn't be recommending controversial pesticides to new growers. Moving on...I hope

I'd start with neem, it's still early .. mix with a few drops of good ol unscented Dr. Bronner's and do the surface of the soil also. Growing peppermint to suck up extra run off will drive mites away... polyculture really helps with all types of bugs. also good ..alyssum calendula nasturtium basil oregano along fence lines and/or at the bottom of grow bags. You need to draw in natural predators .. it will save you a fortune in potions and sprays.

It's always best to work you way up to stronger solutions,.. neem is a smart beginning. Polyculture is your choice.
