I live in the center of Wisconsin and I have some concerns about my grow. Obviously mother nature can be a fickle bitch and that's what I'm concerned about. These are my first 2 plants so I'm very much a newbie and I feel like I'm missing something here. If flowering is supposed to start when the days get to 12 hours of darkness (which occurs at the end of Sept.) how are my plants supposed to last through October? Or do plants start flowering before 12/12?
Any growers in Wisconsin? I have concerns!

They flower around 15/9 give or take (somewhere in August, generally), not 12/12. Not to imply they wouldn't flower at 12/12, only that you don't need to go that far.

I'm in northern wi. 12/12 doesn't apply to outdoor growing. Depending on the strain they will be in flower in aug. Most of mine are done by the end of September. As long as it isn't a hard frost they can go til mid oct. Just make sure if it's really cold out to water the heck out of them.

Fellow Badger! And a newbie! Forget about 12/12 when outdoor growing here. Sun is rising near 5am here in SE, and setting after 8:30am. Flowering is impossible right now.
But we are close. I'm thinking about 3 weeks and my babies will start to prep for flowering. I expect Aug, Sept, and hopefully early Oct to bring some serious bud growth our way. This stretch of weather we are in now is perfect, so it's just a wait and see game now. While I wait, I am topping when appropriate to really maximize my harvest.
