any fisherpeople?

i used to love to fish ponds in texas. you could ride your four wheeler and find 20 different spots. i loved large mouth fishing. now where i live there is a lot of small mouth and trout but i havent gotten in to it as much. some people have told me trout fishing is awesome but i havent tried it a whole lot.

One time my uncle was fishing off a peir. He had one of those big ass offshore rods. Next thing i know hes got a big one hooked. My uncle never got to real in. The fish pulled out 300 yards of string without slowing down. And right before the line was all off the spool my uncle didnt want to lose this fish like a pussy. So he put his thumb on the spool and the fish started to pull him to the water. So my uncle sits down to try to stop the fish (he weighs about 350 pounds). The fish still doesnt stop and starts pulling his big ass accross the ground, my aunt runs over there and adds more weight. Eventually all the string came off the spool and my uncle was cracking up. Only wish i could have seen what it was.

did some saltwater as a kid. i'm close to the ocean so we do a lot of shark and ray fishing. they have oyster beds that the rays feed on. waters about 10 feet deep. we fish from shore with 12 foot surf rods. i've hooked into rays over 200 lbs that took 300 yards of line and kept right on going. i was left with an empty spool on my reel more than once. we carry 2 extra spools of line with us. i have some pics somewhere.
