Hi, ive been sucking information in this forum for almost 2 months now and i finally have my place. First of all I live in the basement of 3 story row house and the breakers and water heaters are in my unit but in in a seperate room not that close from the room in which I plan to grow.

Should I forget about it now ??

The room is 10x6,its situated under my neighbors washer & dryer room and the only access to it is by my bedroom. There's only 1 window which the view was completely blocked before I moved here. The floor and the walls are made of concrete but I plan to cover the wall with some gypsum. wont go in details, will post some pictures soon.

And now for the setup !

I would like to have 2000w of light ! I heard all kind of stuff about an apartments power capacity... I was thinking about using the dryer or stove kind of plug (In my area classified ads there's a lot of premade electrical panel with timer which can be plugged in theses plugs).

My place has 2 bdr so will 2000w be ok regarding the normality of the electrical bill ??

Also ive already saw a room with 4000w of light in a rental unit, what about the dangers if I am planning 2000w ?

I am confused, I don't know if I should grow vertical in soil (like in the link below) since some have proven it very productive or Aeroponic ( not vertical because I do not have the money ) I heard it was also very productive and I can have a system that can fit in my room easily for a very good price. see second link. ( it would be 2 of them of 400$)

I've run a 12x6 room, I used 4' x 12' as the flower area. I ran 3 x 1000w hps vented and the room vented. I also had a dehumidifier, everything connected to a controller. Ran beautifully no problems at all.

in regards to the (2) 1000 watt lights, they will cost roughly $40 each/month. Are you gonna run a veg room as well? If you are, a 2 by 4 T5, exhaust fans, air movement fans, and the HPS light will run you roughly $100/month. To find out exactly you you need to know what equipment you are using and how much a kilowatt of electricity costs you. However, you are gonna have a really difficult time keeping the smell out of your neighbors laundry room. I ain't saying it can't be done but there is no way for you to tell if it's working. Unless of course you ask you neighbor, " Hey neighbor, do you by any chance smell reefer eminateing from the basement below?" Another this is venting in a basement can be a problem cause you don't have access above you, and it's a risk to vent even scrubbed air outside on ground level. If you do attempt this BE AWARE this is not the ideal situation. peace

for now the wooden structure is naked, so I can see their dryer exhaust, i was thinking about putting some kind of isolation on the sealing and close it with some gypsum..
