I’ve embarked on this new journey as a hobby, learning experience, and for a “farm to table” approach. I need some opinions/ feedback though.
First my set up: I have a partitioned tent. The main area is 2x2 feet, with the side partition of 1x1 ft. I plan on using the main area for most of my veg and flower time, and the smaller side for clones and propagation. I have a 450 led light with veg/bloom settings, in-line fan w/carbon filter, small oscillating fan, and propagation warming mat. I’ve been monitoring temperature and humidity with a wireless weather station sensor, and am growing in soil. In the near future I plan to attach supplemental co2.
I may have gotten overzealous and started germinating 4 plants- 2 are GSC, one is lemon haze, and one tangerine daze. I started each seed in a small 3 inch square pot, place on the warming mat, with a baggie over the top to increase initial humidity. Thus far 3 of 4 have sprouted, the tangerine daze, is taking its time but seems to be slowly trying to sprout. Oh and I’ve started a 16/8 light cycle.
So my questions- did I mess up by growing different strains at the same time and will this cause problems down the road? Should I move the tangerine daze to the smaller chamber and veg it separate since it’s 1.5 weeks behind now?
Once my seedings had 4 leaves, I removed the bag I had been using to boost humidity, but have since noticed a drastic decrease in the growth rate. Is this normal behavior- is more energy just being used to grow roots? Initially the growth was explosive, from sprout to 2 leaves, then 4 all within 4 days! I’d love to continue this rapid growth as I plan to keep plants small, bloom early, and then cycle clones back in for a continuous production.
My temperatures are running 68 at night and around 74 during the day, with humidity steady at 55%. Should I increase the daytime temperature a bit, humidity, both to help my new seedings?
I used very good fortified soil, and read I should not being to fertilize for about a month, is this true or should I be dilute feeding to continue rapid growth?
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. I can add pics if that might be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
