ok so everytime i water some of my plants lil flys or something very small seem to be jumping up out of the soil and sometimes in my tent when i pick up a pot there will be some lil ants on the ground?? is this going to kill my plants and if so how do i get rid of them... thanks +REP

Go to ur hardware store and see what they have for ant traps, get one that u can set in there

Sounds like fungus gnats... Or are you certain they are ants? No impossible to be ants, but not common for an indoor grow.

If it's fungus gnats, don't keep your soil so moist. Some people put a layer of sand on top of their soil to keep the gnats from breeding. Maybe about 1/4" deep.

Yeah that's gnats if they fly out of the soil, the only time I saw ants in a indoor grow was with another pest problem and the ants where eating the shit of the other pest, what a mess. The ants were actually protecting the other pests, I wish I could remember what they were, mites or aphids I think. JR

Ants herd aphids. They drink the aphid's ass juice. Basically the aphid drink's the plant's sap and shit out a sweet elixir that ants love. So they herd and protect them.

yes i have also heard about the sand at the top of the soil i guess thats what im going to have to do there is no harm being done, we had some ants in our house over the winter so im pretty sure thats what they are or they could be both, the only bad thing i heard was that the larva eat the roots.... not sure if its true or not but kinda makes sense
