ants going into my pots

so i have these little brown ants going in and out of my pots what harm could they cause? also does anyone know anything i could use to keep them away till i get paid next week?

Ant traps?
Does neem oil work on ants?
Try moving the Pot... once it gets a little ways away they leave.
Transplant, if all else fails?

I use ground cinnamon. Sprinkle it all over the top soil and where the ants are. It won't harm your plants and ants hate cinnamon.

dont people mix it with there soil for just that reason?

I had them crawling inside my plants that i had just topped so i put ant stakes around my greenhouse and the ants left in a hurry and havent been back .

these were in my roots. it looked like they were making an ant hill under my pots

It's probably too late for you, but ants farm aphids, including root aphids. I learned that the hard way. I spread a band of diatomaceous earth around the perimeter of my grow to keep them out. Once you have aphids, you're pretty much screwed.
