Another Ventilation Question

I have another ventilation question. I’ll state all the facts, and then ask my question.

 • Grow room size is 3.5 x 3.5 x 8 = 98 cubic feet.

 • Lighting: 600-watt HPS bulb inside a DayStar air-cooled hood with 6” flanges.

 • Light cooling: a dedicated 6” 300 CFM Elicent inline fan will suck cool air from another room, through the light fixture, and exhaust it somewhere else.

 • Room ventilation: an 8” 636 CFM Elicent inline fan will suck grow room air through a carbon filter and exhaust it somewhere else.

 • Grow type: soilless mix watered manually (no in-room reservoir)

Lots of fan power, I know. But I have a motor controller for each fan, so I can dial in a fast but stable speed. And the 8” 636 CFM fan will weakened considerably by the carbon filter.

My problem is that I really need to vent the air from both fans into my attic. Venting anywhere else will be difficult. However, my attic has only passive vents (no active), so I’m not sure how well air circulates up there. If truly necessary, I could run the venting to the outside via soffit vents.

Since I will be growing only about 5 plants at a time, in a non-hydroponic environment, would my grow room develop too much humidity and/or heat to vent into the attic?

Thanks.
