another theater shooting

You mean a GUN stopped a theatre full of people being slaughtered?

But the liberals said even moar people would be killed and injured, not less!!

It should have been a massacre with people firing randomly into the dark, smoky theater, because that is what armed people do!

Yeah cos the shooter probably isnt the guy who just walked in the door and started blasting away or anything, right?

A bad guy with a gun and a good guy with a gun in a dark movie theater is just a recipe for disaster. MUCH better that ONLY the bad guy has a gun cause he will eventually run out of ammo.

It was a trained, off duty police officer that stopped the attacker.

Not a gun toting citizen with a CCW permit.

So, yes, a 'gun' stopped a shooting...... but it was a gun used by a professional who is trained to use firearms in that type of situation, under that kind of stress.

You are a good little sheep. Let a trained sheep dog protect you from the big bad wolf.

K when a psycho starts shooting at me I will just call a "professional" and tell the psycho to hold up for 20 minutes......Sorry there is nothing complex about guns, its a simple device designed in the 1800's and used by pea brains everywhere.

I'd wager that most competent private firearms owners are VASTLY more proficient in their use of said firearms than a cop.

Most cops are seriously fucking stupid, what planet do you live on?!

Your 'wager' is useless. You have absolutely no basis for your statement that private gun owners are more proficient with firearms than police other than your opinion.

What about incompetent firearms owners? There's tons of them. Should we give them a CCW permit too?

And FYI, knowing which end to point at the bad guy doesn't make you competent. There's a myriad of factors that need consideration when discharging a firearm in a crowded public location. "Bubba-Ray," who did a 1 hour course, online, is not competent enough with a firearm to safely use one in a crowded public place, IMO.

Sadly, people can get CCW permits with virtually zero training.

I have seen cops shoot. They are mostly incompetent. They generally panic when they do shoot. They typically shoot their victims till the hammer goes, "click". They might not be worse than the average gun owner, but they are certainly no better.

Oh there should definately be training for CCW, it's a whole other kettle of fish to "normal" firearm ownership.

Doesnt mean an armed citizen couldn't have prevented some of the massacres.

Generalizations are the basis of ignorance. What about the group of cops that are ex military?

Interesting that you think putting on magic blue suit not only makes you "professional enough" to handle a simple machine but empowered with super human strengths such as the ability to teleport.
